T-Connection

"The Birth of Hip Hop, as told through the lens of the T-Connection Legacy"
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, three brothers—Willie "Bubba" Truss, Richard "Bang Bang, Richard T" Truss, and David Truss—migrated from Talladega, Alabama, to New York. Who could have predicted that Richard T., once roller-skating in a vast, empty venue and worrying about how to fill it, would transform it into one of hip-hop's foundational landmarks? Known as "The T-Connection". This legendary venue was the back-drop to the infamous "Rhythm Den", which became the ultimate destination for "Players" seeking 8-tracks and a cultural hub where hip-hop fans could grab live recordings from the iconic T-Connection.

Discover the rich history of the legendary T-Connection nightclub and its visionary owner, Richard T. We offer a unique selection of historical personalized t-shirts that celebrate the iconic era of hip hop culture, aiming to create a community dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacy of T-Connection. Back Story
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, hip-hop was born in the Bronx, rising from the struggles and resilience of young people navigating the harsh realities of drugs, gangs, and poverty. Amid this cultural revolution, Richard T., one of hip-hop's pioneers, created a haven where this new genre could thrive. From the park venues to recreation centers, Richard T. established an indoor venue, bringing the music indoors, thus creating the legendary T-Connection, a cornerstone of hip-hop's early days.
